A call from Carnival saying Ed and I were chosen to receive a free cruise, all we had to do was pay taxes, port fees. An offer we couldn't refuse! We booked an 8 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean. OMG, first vacation, just the two of us, in 22 years! We sailed out of Ft Lauderdale on the Freedom on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Our first port of call was Grand Turk on Monday, LaRomana, Dominican Republic on Tuesday, Curacao on Wednesday and Aruba on Thursday with two relaxing days at sea to end our cruise. Since we had a late flight home on Sunday we took a boat ride thru the Everglades searching for alligators. As I am sitting there looking over the edge of the boat the guide proceeds to tell us alligators can jump. Now that's a comforting thought and immediately I picture a particular scene out of Jaws and the music starts playing in my head!!
Ed and I had a wonderful time on this much needed, well deserved vacation.

Awwww....so glad you got such an excellent treat! It looks like something Sam and I would enjoy for sure. You took some great pics, but my favorites are of Grand Turk... What was the guide telling you about the starfish and urchins? Thanks for sharing.
